How I Use Field Notes for Content Organization and Creation
1. A Notebook for Every Purpose
I use Field Notes for specific creative needs. One notebook serves as my “idea hub” for brainstorming and capturing random thoughts. Another notebook is dedicated to teaching ideas, which later evolved into articles, newsletters, and videos. Assigning a specific purpose to each notebook keeps my workflow organized and focused.
2. Pairing Field Notes with the Right Accessories
To carry my notebooks, I use a Lockby cover. It’s functional and durable, but I’ve noticed room for improvement. For instance, I’d prefer elastic bands over zippers, making carrying multiple Field Notes notebooks easier. Despite this, the Lockby cover remains a favorite for keeping my notebooks secure and accessible.
3. Organize Ideas with Field Notes
Using Field Notes is an ongoing experiment. I constantly adjust how I use each notebook depending on my needs. Sometimes, I shift what goes into my idea notebook or modify how I organize my teaching notes. The flexibility allows me to achieve creative workflow with Field Notes.
Why Field Notes Work for Me
Field Notes notebooks are compact, versatile, and adaptable to any creative system. These tools for brainstorming ideas and creating outlines for future projects help me stay organized and inspired. Paired with tools like the Lockby cover, Field Notes have become essential to my creative process.
